There are a lot of things we invest in to do what we love as entrepreneurs; somewhere to house our email list (CRM), web hosting, website design, virtual assistant, coaching and training of all kinds for business, marketing and even mindset.
Yes, those things are important in order for you to do day to day business. Realistically though you can make money without most of those things (I know, crazy, right?).
But if you are the frontperson for your biz, the genius behind it all, then the most important asset is…YOU.
Without you, those other investments wouldn’t be necessary. So how do you treat your most important asset?
- Do you get a full 8 hours sleep and wake up rested or do you run on 4-5 hours and are tired when you get up?
- Eat healthy food throughout the day to keep you energized or do you skip breakfast and have a quick lunch of fast food?
- Take any time for exercise so you’re clear-headed or do you sit at your desk all day and really want to take a nap by 3 pm?
- Take time to relieve stress or do you keep going no matter what until you feel completely burnt out?
Hands down, the most important investment you can make in your business is:
Your Health and Wellness
It’s really hard to be creative when your brain is always foggy or get through your weekly to-do list if you’re always tired.
Having a healthy lifestyle can reliably produce better results in your business and therefore your bottom line.
Let me say that one more time.
A healthy routine that includes rest, exercise, healthy food and time to de-stress will help you make more money.
Besides the fact that you’ll be happier, calmer, more centered and balanced and reduce the risk of disease.
Sounds great…right? So why is it so many people don’t put their health and wellness first?
In a word. Habits.
Creating (and sticking to) a healthy lifestyle can be tough…because it’s new.
My Recommendation For You
You’re not yet used to getting up in the morning and taking a moment to visualize your day and feel gratitude. Or taking some time to move your body so you can be more focused. Or eating healthy meals, so you have energy throughout the day.
You’re body and mind are so used to doing things the way you’re doing them now that it’s going to protest a bit until your new healthy lifestyle becomes – well – a habit.
If you don’t have the right support and know-how to make the transition, it can be easy to slide back into old habits that aren’t working for you.
You invest in a business coach to challenge you and help you do the hard, uncomfortable things to move your business to the next level.
Why wouldn’t you invest in someone to help you create a healthy lifestyle, someone to give you the knowledge and know-how that will have benefits well beyond your business?
For some reason investing in ourselves, that way can feel selfish. Maybe because – it is – and in this case, there is nothing wrong with that.
But if you need some other solid reasoning, consider that:
Investing in your health & wellness IS an investment in your business.
